Pogno paese dipinto è un'iniziativa che è stata promossa dal comune nel 2005. Quella dei paesi dipinti è un'associazione di circa cento comuni italiani che ha lo scopo di promuovere il proprio patrimonio culturale. Si tratta di murales che sono stati dipinti nelle mura di abitazioni private situate nel centro storico, in modo da offrire al turista un museo gratuito e all'aperto.
Gli artisti dei murales di Pogno
Il comune di Pogno, in collaborazione con "Muri d'autore servizi" ha invitato artisti italiani del calibro di Sandro Bardelli, Salvo Caramagno, Dario Pareschi, Mario Carattoli, Ruggerno Marrani e Franco Mora e uno straniero: Dietrich Bickler. Gli artisti sono stati cordialmente ospitati dalla gente di Pogno e a ciascuno è stato affidato un tema da interpretare, rielaborare e imprimere sul muro: l'acqua.
Il tema dell'acqua e le opere
Per capire la scelta di questo tema basta pensare che l'acqua è si un elemento fondamentale per l'uomo, ma per Pogno lo è in particolare: oltre al fatto che qui si è talmente sviluppata l'industria della rubinetteria, da essere nominato "Il distretto del rubinetto", è un paese che si trova nella zona del Lago d'Orta, condizione che ha reso possibile l'insediamento umano nel Cusio. Fra i sette affreschi presenti, sono degni di menzione le "Bagnanti al fiume", "La nascita di Venere" e "Clotilde nel bagno di schiuma".
